Del. Schuyler VanValkenburg D-Henrico launched a new TV ad this week as he seeks reelection to his third term in the Virginia House of Delegates. In the ad, VanValkenburg touts his job and experience as a public school teacher in Henrico and the work he did last year with Sen. Siobhan Dunnavant R-Henrico to pass legislation for schools to be opened up for in-person learning this year.

“As a public school teacher for over 16 years, I know students learn best when they are in the classroom. That’s why I worked hard with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to put together a plan to get kids back in school safely,” VanValkenburg said in a statement Tuesday.

The two-term Democratic delegate is facing a challenge from Republican Christopher Holmes for the 72 district seat. VanValkenburg defeated GayDonna Vandergriff in 2019 by seven points.
