Dr. Cameron Webb, Democratic nominee for Virginia’s 5th Congressional District, released a commercial on Wednesday morning that highlights his supporters in law enforcement and his platform on issues of policing. Webb is facing Republican candidate Bob Good, the man that ran to the right of the current Republican representative, Congressman Denver Riggleman and won the nomination in a convention.
“I trust Dr. Cameron Webb to be an advocate and partner for law enforcement in Congress and that is why I am endorsing him” said former Campbell County Sheriff Steve Hutcherson. “He will push for the right reforms to ensure police officers have the tools they need to fight crime and keep our communities safe.”
Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger also released an ad on Wednesday that highlights her experience growing up with her mother who is a nurse. Spanberger is running for re-election in Virginia’s 7th congressional district against Republican state Delegate Nick Freitas.
“Every day, my mom demonstrated the long hours, sacrifices, and extraordinary courage displayed by those on the front lines of our country’s healthcare system — often without any form of recognition. My mom’s dedication to her patients — and the stories she shared about their hardships and triumphs, respecting HIPAA of course — inform my work every day in Congress,” said Spanberger in the ad.
