The Commonwealth of Virginia reported 3,395 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday morning and Governor Ralph Northam issued more restrictions on Thursday to try and slow the spread.
Chesterfield County has seen a total of 10,590 cases this year. There have been 541 hospitalizations and 146 deaths due to COVID-19 complications.
Chesterfield is currently seeing a seven-day average increase of 123 new cases per day, however, 145 cases were reported on Friday. The seven-day average of new daily cases among a population of 100,000 in Chesterfield results in 35.2, which is 10 points below the statewide average.
